A man was killed in a shooting in the Portage Park neighbourhood of Calgary on Friday, a police spokesman said.
“We are in the process of interviewing witnesses to the incident, and are urging the public to come forward if you have any information,” police said in a statement.
Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of West 15th Avenue, in the Calgary suburb of Portage, around 5:00pm (local time).
Police say a 19-year-old man died from his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Police said the victim was the subject of a domestic violence investigation.
A neighbour said she heard a loud bang at about 5:45pm.
She saw blood on the floor.
“I saw his face was all blood and his shirt was all bloody,” she told CBC News.
“He had a gun, there was a lot of blood on his face.”
No further details were immediately released.
Police have not yet released a description of the suspect.
